Exmouth beach is around 2 miles (3.2 km) long and wonderfully sandy. There's a large tidal range here, so the beach can look completely different depending on what state of the tide you visit at. There are often large sand bars in the estuary as well and the beach is fantastic for swimming. Always look out for the RNLI lifeguarding flags and be careful of strong tides as the water leaves through a narrow channel.
