Lovers Walk was possibly the earliest example of a public pleasure ground. It was originally a series of paths on the east side of the river Derwent accessed by a ferry boat. The bridge was installed in 1969.

It’s a fair old slog up to the too but the view is definitely worth it. Best way to see Matlock Bath 👍🏻

Walking paths through the woodland on the steep valley side along the river. Plenty of steps to help with the gradient. Nice walk from the Station car park then over one of the bridges into Matlock Bath.
