This is a great walk starting and finishing from Devizes. Taking the 33X bus from Devizes to Chippenham. The walk starts from the bus station and mostly uses the old Calne and Chippenham railway line. The walk finishes opposite the Calne Town Hall. With the return bus stop on the opposite side of the

This is a great second part to stage 3 of the Kennet and Avon canal walk. I started this walk by parking at the Pewsey wharf and a short walk to Pewsey railway station. From here a train to Hungerford and then back down the line on another train to Great Bedwyn, for the start of the walk. This walk passes

This is a lovely walk in the Fyfield Down. The area is rich in prehistoric monuments, which were build using the sarsen stones from Fyfield Down. Devil's Den - An ancient burial chamber that marks the eastern entrance to the valley. Valley of Stones - Thousands of sarsen stones, depostited during the last ice age.

This walk starts and finishes at the Wilton Windmill. There is a lay-by next to the Wilton Windmill. The Windmill is open to the public, check website for timings. The walk takes you through Bedwyn Brail (woods), where you can see the two wood carvings and Tottenham House through the avenue of trees

Generally the route is on a tow path, but the area of Freemans Marsh is through a field. On this walk between locks 71 and 70 the canal had been drained. This

This is a fairly long leg of The Kennet and Avon Canal walk. However, if you don't fancy tackling it in one go. You can split the walk into two very even parts, by stopping at Keynsham (Lock Keeper Inn) and taking the train back to Bath or onward to Bristol (check local rail times).
I started this walk

A lovely flat walk on half of the Marlborough and Chiseldon Railway Path. Generally, this is a traffic free route. Some normal roads at the turn around point that I did in Ogbourne St. George. The total route from Marlborough to Chiseldon is around 8.7 miles (14 km). The path is a mix of hard stone gravel
