If you stop here you can experience history. The Alpe, whose name goes back to the watershed between the Rhine and the Danube, was first mentioned in 1404. After a fire it was rebuilt in 1870 and operated as a Sennalpe until 1957. Today, bikers and hikers feast on the homemade cheese products, among other things.
