Nagelfluh, a rock found primarily in the Alpine foothills, is characterized by its interlocked rock fragments, which sit like nails in a solidified mass. These rock fragments are often river pebbles held together by a fine-grained mass. Nagelfluh is also called "God's concrete" because the cause of this solidification was previously unknown.
