Romantic castle ruins above Rheindiebach. The Archdiocese of Cologne had it built in the 13th century as Zollburg. At the time of its construction, it was one of the most powerful and best fortified castles on the Rhine.
After considerable destruction by invaders in the late 17th century, the ruins fell into ruins for several centuries. Meanwhile, some restoration work is taking place, however, no visit is currently possible.

The castle has been in ruins since it was destroyed in the mid-17th century and is now privately owned.

A very nicely located rest area with a great view of Fürstenberg Castle, the Rhine and the Rheingau.
