The Estates House in Rostock, which immediately catches the eye with its rich decorations and towers, was once the seat of the parliament of the Mecklenburg estates. Today it is the seat of the only higher regional court in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
The listed building was built in a striking dark red neo-Gothic brick style. Grand Duke Friedrich Franz II commissioned the building and it was built between 1889 and 1893 according to plans by Gotthilf Ludwig Möckel.

The Ständehaus in Rostock was built between 1889 and 1893 by the master builder Möckel right next to the stone gate. With its atrium and staircase as well as the magnificent ballroom with barrel vault, it is always worth a visit.
