The Feuerstein Observatory is located in the Lange Meile region of Upper Franconia, about 35 km north of Nuremberg. It is situated on the hill between the towns of Ebermannstadt and Eggolsheim, at an elevation of 499.5 m above sea level and 500 m south of Burg Feuerstein Airfield.In addition to scientific astronomical observation, the public observatory is also open to interested visitors, especially amateur astronomers and schoolchildren, for popular science events that introduce them to the history and latest discoveries in the fields of astronomy and astrophysics.
