View from Penegal Summit

Very nice climb from the Mendel Pass to Penegal, the view at the top is gigantic. If the tour does not prompt you to continue, the few kilometers from the Mendola to Penegal are recommended. The road up is very steep, rather narrow and not very busy.

The Mendelpass, which in itself is also a beauty, with a wonderful view, is not the end of the climb. A small, inconspicuous diversion after the passport leads up to Monte Penegal at 1727m. The track itself is disgusting: 3.9km and 320 meters in altitude and still two flat pieces. The slope usually always fluctuates around 10-11%, ramps sometimes go much higher. The surface is also not perfect, the descent through the forest is less fun. There is not much traffic, but there are cars going up here to get to the inn above. Why do you drive up here? Two answers: firstly the athletic challenge, secondly, the view that awaits you above is the best I could experience. One can, if the clouds do not mind, see the Sellaronda to the east, and the view of the valley in front of it is simply splendid.

Highly recommended - the slope is sporty, the view above is regal. The Dolomites lie in front of you and the view stretches from the Schlern in the north over Sella, Latemar and Rosengarten - great.
