Autumn, fog, wind and the sun slowly make its way through the clouds. Grandiose backdrop. Sightseeing on Heidistrassen and pushing the pedals on the scooter passages. It was great Marc!

Heidistraßenwonderland. I just love this area, dreamy and empty streets in front of a grandiose backdrop - and quite demanding (at least for me), not a pure wellness event. Steingaden Minster, Wieskirche, Wankerfleck, Neuschwanstein, Alpsee, Alatsee, Füssen, Auerberg. Marc, I was really happy that it worked today and merci for the slipstream donation!

Trip to home. Full closure in front of Schnaitsee. In front of the prohibition sign, an elderly couple with a folding bike and luggage, who, a little lost, studied a map. When I asked where they were going, I understood something that sounded like Wasserburg. They come from Seattle especially to explore Europe by bike over the summer. With so much sympathy, of course, I was happy to do a lap of honor to guide them safely towards Wasserburg. Just a nice encounter with nice people.

8 o'clock everything is packed, but we can't find the baker, "let's just cycle off," said Oli, I know the sentence by now. So slow sober ride towards Villach via Kransjka Gora, unfortunately we couldn't get to Ljubljana because of train problems. We were far too early in Villach so we decided to tackle one last mountain, 1100hm up to the Dobradsch, nice, but unfortunately the Großglockner is small, that is, profit-maximizing geared towards motorized individual traffic, again typical, not a fat parquet space right at the top only on cars, but also on buses and of course the numerous motorcycles today. The secret of why there were so many today was also revealed in the end. It was Europe's Harley weekend very close to Villach. Just a really nice tour, it was definitely not the last time we cycled in Slovenia.

.... Like inexorable passes Bohinjsko and Podjelej had it all…. But first start along Soca downstream to the Napolean Bridge. It is difficult to escape the magic of the deep turquoise water ... just like the many water sports enthusiasts who dare to plunge into the floods. Then over a small ascent the entry into another world, a craggy little valley, only a few small farms that were connected by a narrow asphalt strip in a ridge, 0 traffic only goats and we on the road, almost mystical. But the first ascent, quite demanding but there is still something going on, and then the second ascent, ok at first, then relentless, 10%, 12%, 14%, 17% I even caught Oli at. Riding snake lines and had to laugh so much that I overlooked the cow dung and the rear wheel spun happily, but somehow we heaved ourselves up and the descent made everything forget and flew towards the goal. I prefer not to talk about the nasty final ascent, now I'll just dismiss it as a cheap chicane. Very casual today!

7:15 a.m. ... The bikes are packed and Oli just said “come on, let's go cycling”. Was not foreseeable the day before, our train to Villach was canceled and even the rag picker train was 1 hour late. So at midnight in the hotel, although the term sounds slightly euphemistic, it was a clean dive bar with a window on the Villach party mile, but at some point we fell asleep and let the garbage disposal wake us up early.
But whatever…. My dear Mr. Choral Society, what a ride it was today. First to Italy, past an abandoned mining workshop, up to old bunkers from the World War, for a detour to Mangart at 2000m altitude ... what can I say, the photos will hopefully speak volumes. Up a lap of honor and down again, back to Italy and then back to Slovenia and on old railway lines to Kranska Gora, where the Vrsic pass was waiting at the end. Not without it, with two unpleasant characteristics, it gets steeper and steeper and all 28 hairpin bends are garnished with cobblestones. Thank you very much for that. But the view from above was all the more beautiful and the descent just didn't want to end, straight to the destination. Looking forward to tomorrow!
