One of the beautiful stones, crosses and martyrs with history. The well-made information boards at the respective sights tell the story of the installation and the location. Often it's about an accident, a crime or some other fateful event, sometimes it's just a kind of landmark.

The Maulaufreißer: In the niche was formerly probably a small figure.
Many dark acts have been committed in the Reichswald. The cross stone recalls that once a young lad drowned his pregnant bride in the nearby Sambachweiher. The Maulaufreißer is a memorial column and stands at the intersection Tennenloher Weg / Dormitzer road. The column was built to commemorate the Nuremberg patrician sons Sebastian Schedel and Christoph Pfinzing, who were shot here in 1547 on a ride from Nuremberg to Marloffstein here by passing Italian soldiers.
