The Peter and Paul Church in Völlen was built as a late-Gothic brick building in Völlen on a terp. It is beautifully located and on a tour around the Freidhof in sunny weather, which is often laid out directly around the church as is often the case in East Frisia, you will quickly recognize the special charm of the building made of light red clinker.
In the church we find a wooden barrel vault and simple furnishings that testify to a religiously based modesty.
For several years now, the war memorial, which the Völlners reminded of a war crime in Sobidor, has attracted particular attention. Here the Völlners reacted wisely and changed the monument with the words "NEVER AGAIN" in favor of a cautionary attitude instead of glorification.
