When driving through Striesow, the wooden belfry with a bell catches the eye. With the oak and the war memorial, it forms the center of the village and has become the landmark of Striesow.

In 1885 the belfry with bell was auctioned in Drachhausen for 505 marks. The bell weighed 385 kilos and was cast in Kleinwelka near Bautzen in 1853. Striesower carpenters reconstructed the belfry and set it up. The bell was inaugurated on Palm Sunday on April 18, 1886.
