The town of Murrhardt with around 14,000 inhabitants is the center of the Swabian Forest in the northeast of the Stuttgart metropolitan region.

An impressive story can be experienced up close. Immerse yourself in an exciting journey through time from the Limes World Heritage Site and the vicus murrensis fort site to Roman times, through the Middle Ages as the heyday of the Murrhardt monastery, the Wilhelminian and Art Nouveau periods, which are unique for Murrhardt, right into the modern era.

Experience the Roman Murrhardt in the Carl Schweizer Museum, in the permanent exhibition in the medical center at the Römerbad or on a hike to the Roman watchtowers on the Limes. Visit the former monastery complex, which is still almost completely there and is now in the middle of life, together with the Walterich Chapel and the Walterich Church. You can find out the history and background in the Carl Schweizer Museum. You can experience the Wilhelminian and Art Nouveau periods up close in the Villa Franck on the Hohenstein above Murrhardt. Immerse yourself in the time of the “Caro King” and Murrhardt honorary citizen Robert Franck.

Enjoy the picturesque landscape with natural beauties such as the Hörschbachschlucht, recreational areas such as the Waldsee or the Stadtgarten, the picturesque streets of the city center with specialist shops, attractions, cafés and restaurants or the beautifully situated suburbs and hamlets around the town.
