Tips

Not just a nice place for a break! The Sonnenberger Graben and the Rehberger Graben date back to the time of mining in the Harz Mountains. The two trenches that are brought together here each served to supply water for the mining industry at the time. There are believed to be around 1600 of these trench systems in the Harz Mountains.

This is where the Sonneberger and Rehberger Graben meet and are redistributed. In addition, the Lochwasser begins its course here.
There is a picnic area with a table and benches

The rushing of the moat can be heard from afar, the imposing structure and the cascades make it a special highlight.
It is worthwhile to follow the course of the trench a bit upwards.

A rest area is located here, where you can eat in peace and quiet. The former mining trenches Rehberger and Sonnenbergergraben meet each other. The hole water flows downhill.
