Passeier cycle path - spa town of Meran to St. Leonhard in Passeier
The 19 km long Passeiertal cycle path leads from the spa town of Meran to St. Leonhard in Passeier
Mostly flat and along a slight incline, the Passeier cycle path takes you through the beautiful landscapes of the Passeier Valley. The refreshing Passer accompanies the cyclist along the entire cycle path. The starting point is the spa town of Merano: from the Thermenplatz we head east through the Elisabeth Park into the Passeier Valley. Continuing along the right bank of the river we soon leave the city area. The path is still paved here, but later it becomes a gravel path.
Above us on the right we see Schenna with the castle, the church and the mausoleum of Archduke Johann. On the left side are the villages of Tirol, Kuens and Riffian. We are already halfway past Saltaus. We cross the river several times as the cycle path changes sides. At Quellenhof we drive past the golf course and continue to St. Martin.
When we arrived in St. Leonhard in Passeier, we reached the end of the cycle path. On the way there we pass the Sandwirt, the birthplace of the legendary freedom fighter Andreas Hofer. The Passeier Museum awaits us here with all its special features and valuable contemporary witnesses to the history of Tyrol. Worth seeing!

If you are lucky, as we are today on Pentecost, you can see many canoes going through the wild waters of the Passer!

The Passeier Valley cycle path is wonderful. Approximately 20 km from Meran to St. Leonhard and back. The 20 km high are no fun, only fun with an ebike. You can let the bike run back.
