The villa was built in 1909/1910 by Rudolph Hertzog, who gave it to his fiancée Wally, a born putt chamber. At the turn of the century, Rudolph Hertzog owned the largest department store in Berlin on Breiten Strasse and also acquired numerous other buildings in the city center.

The villa is modeled on French models with a mixture of neo-baroque and rococo. The construction costs are said to have been four million gold marks.

After the Second World War, the Ministry of Foreign Trade of the USSR bought the villa and converted it into a recreation center, at times the Soviet ambassador resided in the house. At the end of the 1970s, the Ministry of State Security received the villa and used it as a guest house for high-ranking foreign visitors.

The Dussmann Group acquired the building in 1991 and reconstructed it with great effort, so that it now shines in old splendor inside and out. The neighboring properties were also acquired by Peter Dussmann and serve to train employees and serve as the company's guest houses.
