Bahrendorf Castle, built between 1908 and 1912, was used as a hospital from 1945 to 2002 and had a very good reputation.
The representative neo-baroque three-wing complex with classicist decorative and architectural elements was built by the well-known architect Prof. Paul Schultze-Naumburg. The castle building with approx. 2800 square meters of floor space and three other outbuildings is located in a 40,000 square meter park with ponds and streams.
The castle is located in the center of the village opposite the community center and is considered to be the heart of Bahrendorf.
