The church dates back to the late Romanesque period and rises on a hill above the Sülzetal nature reserve. On the west side is the on a rectangular floor plan, built across the nave steeple. The tower is equipped with a saddle roof and has arched windows. The chancel on the eastern side takes up the width of the ship, but is slightly lower than this.In 1717, the nave and choir were remodeled in Baroque style. During this time the segmental arched windows were created. The sacristy on the north side of the choir is also from this period.
