Best Hikes to Blick auf den Grawa Wasserfall
Tips
  • Chilling on the viewing platform ... very nice, soothing waterfall

  • The Grawa Waterfall, with its 85 meters, is the widest waterfall in this part of the Alps. Below there is a viewing platform with wooden loungers. The air here is as pure and wet as it can be, so take a deep breath and enjoy. It has even been proven medically that even one hour at the foot of the waterfall significantly improves the recovery of the upper respiratory tract. That gives above all also the necessary breath for further beautiful hikes in the region.

  • A worthwhile trip to the rear Stubai Valley below the legendary Stubai Glacier shows which masses of water (in the form of ice) form a glacier. In addition to a few tributaries that are fed by the rainfall of the mountains above, the Grawafall arises from the melt of the Sulzenaufern, a glacier in the Stubai Glacier area. The lowest foothills of this distance are reached by the Wilde Wasser Weg, a hiking trail in three stages, which leads from the Ruetz cataract via the Grawa Fall via the Sulzenau Alm to the glacier.

  • Here at the (newly) created Grawa observatory you can watch the impressive amounts of water on numerous seats and let yourself be sprinkled by the beneficial effects of the fine water dust / spray from the waterfall.

  • Well-developed path to the waterfall with a large platform, where you can lie in the spray on the loungers. In summer there is a large number of tourists, as it is only a few minutes from the parking lot to the waterfall. There is also a bus stop nearby for the bus to the valley.

  • A spectacular waterfall (according to tourism information, the widest waterfall in the Eastern Alps), which you can admire from the viewing platform from one of the many cozy wooden loungers, or from two other viewing platforms on a hiking trail that runs parallel to the course of the waterfall (only for sure-footed hikers!).

  • As a themed hiking trail with its diverse information, varied attractions (waterfalls, cairn legions etc.), the Wild Water Trail is suitable for starting a hiking holiday in the Stubai Valley, for families with children of walking age (or on the first stage too with prams) as well as for vacationers who are interested in "water" and its diverse meaning for the people in the Stubai Valley.
