When the Danish royal family spends their vacation at Gråsten Castle in summer, the royal yacht 'Dannebrog' lies in front of Sonderbørg Castle (see photos).
The bascule bridge connects the mainland with the island of Åls. Before the motorway bridge (north) was built, this bridge was the only permanent connection.
