The course was created in two steps. Initially, between 1890 and 1900, was formed on the site of the (old) Verbindungsbahn, which ran between 1851 and 1878 approximately in the middle between Crusius and Breitkopfstraße in north-south direction, the western half of the present complex as a decorative space between the im Located to the north (new) Reudnitz town hall and located in the south VII. Bürgerschule. This part was called Platz vor der VII. Bürgerschule. Here was until 1988 a copy of Apelsteins 42 (Bülowstein).
