Best Hikes to Alma Spring (Schwarze Welle)

Tips

  • A beautiful spring pool that helps the hare thrive, as liters of water bubble up from the earth at a temperature of about 7 to 9 degrees Celsius. It's also an ideal spot for a short rest.

  • The Black Wave, also known as the Alma Spring, is a source area of the rabbit.

The Hase is the most important tributary of the Ems and the most formative river in the TERRA.vita nature and geopark. It has its origin north of Dissen in the Teutoburg Forest - there its bed is formed from several spring areas.

The Hasequelle in the Puschkental south of Wellingholzhausen is the highest and therefore "official" source of the Hase. The Black Wave, also known as the Alma Spring, rises about a kilometer below the Hase Spring as a pond spring in the forest. It is the most important water dispenser for the rabbit.
