Ravensberg Castle is only a few kilometers from Borgholzhausen. After it was built in 1080, it was the ancestral seat of the Counts of Ravensberg until 1346. Today the castle is looked after by a foundation and regularly opens its doors for medieval markets, concerts and educational programs.

Hiking

The castle restaurant is furnished in the old forester's lodge, built in 1868. The design is by the Prussian architect Karl Friedrich Schinkel.
