Ljubljana Castle, Ljubljana Castle / Ljubljanski grad
The Ljubljana Castle, which has stood on the hill above the city center for around 900 years, is Ljubljana's main attraction. The most beautiful views of the city can be seen from the observation tower and the castle wall. In the castle rooms you can visit the museum exhibition Slovenian History, the Puppet Theater Museum as well as several historical rooms and other exhibitions, including the St. George's Chapel, the former prison and the Virtual Castle.

Just follow the small trail or take the funicular. Running around in the castle is free, for the observation tower you have to pay 8, - Euro.
The castle of Ljubljana and funicular to the castle is open daily at the following times:

    January - March, November: from 10am to 6pm,
    April, May, October: from 9am to 9pm,
    June - September: from 9:00 to 23:00,
    December: from 10:00 to 22:00.

Very well preserved castle. Many areas are walkable (also free) and you have several very good views of the city. There are two good walkways and a lift for foot lameness (cost 2 x 2 EUR). A visit is always worth it.
