The Dortmund U. Formerly the Union brewery, now a museum. There is a public terrace on the roof with a beautiful view over Dortmund

The pigeon projection at the top of the tower is just awesome.

The "Dortmunder U - Center for Art and Creativity" was created in the listed former fermentation and storage tower of the Dortmund Union Brewery. In a unique mix of art, research, cultural education and creative industries, events, exhibitions and a wide variety of cultural offerings are aimed at a broad audience, whose participation is particularly important within the framework of an inclusive cultural concept.

The Dortmunder U, also known as the U-Tower, is a high-rise building built in 1926/1927 as the “fermentation and storage cellar” of the Dortmund Union Brewery on the western edge of Dortmund city center. The name is derived from the brewery's logo, which was placed on the main tower in 1968 and completely restored in 2008: a four-sided, nine-meter-high, gold-plated and illuminated "U" based on a design by the architect Ernst Neufert.

After the brewery was relocated in 1994, only the listed building, [1] the most famous building by the Dortmund engineer and architect Emil Moog, remained of the company buildings. The Dortmunder U and the Müser Brewery in Bochum are identical in construction and were both developed by the architect Moog. The city of Dortmund acquired the area in 2007 and had the previously vacant “Dortmunder U” converted into a center for art and creativity for the European Capital of Culture - RUHR.2010. It houses among other things. the Ostwall Museum and the Hartware Medienkunstverein.
