According to the funeral register, field 14 has been used as a Jewish part of the cemetery since 1898, with field 14a reserved for adults and field 14b reserved for children's burials. The tombs were along the paths. The bombing raids of World War II particularly severely destroyed this part of the cemetery. Three direct bomb hits were registered in this relatively small area. What spared the bombs was robbed or destroyed by looters. In the course of reparation, the city of Dortmund undertook to rehabilitate the Jewish cemetery section after 1945. Bomb funnels were removed, the two rows of fields were leveled, lawns were sown and a new path system was created. A monument with the inscription on the right was erected for the Dortmund Jewish faith, who fell victim to the National Socialist regime.

Jewish burials were restricted to the Ostfriedhof from 1936 and stopped in 1943. Even after 1945, Jewish burials no longer took place here; a separate area of the main cemetery in Dortmund was reserved for them.
