Bike Touring Highlight
The Haltern–Venlo railway was a single-track main line in North Rhine-Westphalia and the Netherlands, originally built and operated by the Cologne-Mindener Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (CME) as part of the inter-regional Hamburg-Venlo railway. The line, which is now largely closed and dismantled, branched off the Wanne-Eickel-Hamburg railway line in Haltern and ran via Wesel and Geldern to Venlo.
