Almost nothing reliable is known about the life of Saint George, to whom this church near Agums is dedicated, but his veneration dates back as far as early Christianity. A martyr identified with George is said to have lived in the third century.
On the other hand, the legend of Saint George slaying the dragon is well known and widespread. He is usually depicted in paintings or as a statue as the slayer of the monster.

The Church of St. George is located in the Agums district of the municipality of Prad am Stilfserjoch. The church was built around 1500 and a chapel was added in 1705. The life-size crucifix on the altar from the 14th century is admirable.
