Ingrid Bergman was symbolically buried in the Norra begravningsplatsen (North Cemetery) in Solna (Stockholm County), as her ashes were scattered at sea on June 5, 1983 in the town of Fjällbacka on the Swedish west coast near her favorite island Dannholmen. On the same day, a bust of Ingrid Bergman (sculptor Gudmar Olofsson) was erected at the port of the small town.
