Steinfeld is also known in the horse region of Vechta with its place Mühlen, where many horse events take place, through its 75 life-size horse sculptures, which are now distributed throughout the municipality, as well as the "Dicken Stein" ( 254796), which shapes the face of the town center.
But in the south of the village we also find this well-preserved object of industrial history from 1900, the Kollergang, located on the Ziegeleiteich.
As the name of the pond already indicates, this is about the production of bricks. The imposing rolling mill was used to grind clay. The clay was crushed by the thick rollers and pressed through the iron plate underneath like a meat grinder. After all, Wilberding's steam brick factory, founded in 1850, was operated at this location until 1973.
In 2019, the community redesigned the area around the Ziegeleiteich for 100,000 euros and, in addition to the tree bench, also built a natural window through which great photos can be taken to remember and present yourself.
The old transformer tower, which was redesigned by NABU for bird protection in the mid-2010s, is also located on the Ziegeleiteich.
