Walking along these water reservoirs is great fun. However, there is no cooling, except from the shade of trees. The water troughs had also largely dried up during our visit. Only a few contain water.

Wide walking paths along the water extraction area are only reserved for walkers on weekends and public holidays. Depending on your visit, the reservoirs may be filled with water. Unfortunately, the reservoirs were completely empty during our visit.

Very striking in these forests is the extensive network of canals. This is therefore an important water extraction area. The sand naturally purifies the collected polder water. Evides Water Company then processes it into water for industrial applications and drinking water in the pumping station in Kapelleburg using environmentally friendly techniques. Water extraction and nature therefore form a very strong combination here.
