Devout and at the same time admonishing and seducing for reflection, they stand at the chapel of St. Anna on the Kornbühl near Salmendingen

Alone the ascent over the Stations of the Cross is an experience. Once at the top, the chapel and the crosses, as well as the figures, offer a great view. From there you can also get a great view of the surrounding countryside. Just beautiful.

The almost circular, 886 m high Kornbühl owes its preservation two limestone formations, which proved to be particularly resistant to erosion: the White Jurassic beta at the foot of the mountain and especially its summit of consistent mass limestones of the White Jurassic delta. In between are the more easily weathered marl layers of the White Jurassic gamma. The Kornbühl is a witness mountain, as it bears witness to the fact that the limestone of the White Jura delta originally extended further to the northwest.

The heart of the landscape is the Kornbühl (886 m) with the Salmendinger chapel. The highest point, however, is the Köbele (901 m), which towers above the village to the south. Further elevations of the so-called Kuppenalb are the double-humped Bühlberge (865 m) and the Monkberg (884 m). A special kind of natural phenomenon is the Märzenbrunnen, a small lake that accumulates during spring snowfall on the Old Ringinger Weg. The overflowing water reaches the river Woog and flows at the Melchinger mill into the Lauchert. Wonderful hiking trails open up the landscape around the Kornbühl

The Salmendinger chapel is a pilgrimage chapel dedicated to St. Anna at the Burladinger district Salmendingen in Zollernalbkreis. The chapel is located on the Kornbühl, a nearly 900 high Härtling of the Swabian Alb. The Salmendinger chapel is first mentioned in documents in 1507, when Peter Schweiher of Strassberg has publicly announced that his little boy has asked him for a donation for the "attachment to the kornbühel and he has asked the saint frouwen sant". Presumably, it was not about the construction of the chapel - it should be older. The Renaissance altar dates from the second half of the 17th century. On the summit with three crosses, which symbolize the Calvary, leads a in 1886 created Way of the Cross with 14 stations. In 1957 and 1974, the chapel was broken into and several valuable saints were stolen, including in 1957 the Madonna figure of Kornbühl, which stands on a crescent moon. After the second theft, all the originals were removed from the chapel and photographs were taken in their place. In 1983, the stolen Saint Wendelin reappeared in the art trade, from the other stolen pieces missing any trace.
