The facility is still owned by the Tucher Foundation and is not open to the public. (When I tried to catch a glimpse of the castle, I couldn't help thinking of Kafka's novel).
The building was originally a pond, i.e. H. it was on a small island in a pond, which had to make way for a garden in the 19th century. During this period there were also major changes, mainly from the 15th and 16th centuries. Century house itself, for example through the addition of the stair tower and the four corner towers.
The complex was acquired as headquarters by the patrician family Tucher in 1598, who changed its name from then on to "Tucher von Simmelsdorf". It is one of the most influential families in the history of Nuremberg.
