From 1780 onwards, the Ruhr became the most important transport route for the Nachtigall mine. On board the 35-metre-long Ruhrnachen “Ludwig Henz”, the history of coal shipping on the Ruhr comes to life again. Around the pier, an exhibition tells the story of coal merchants, hydraulic engineers and shipping.
