The green and white striped lighthouse with a hexagonal lantern stands at the tip of a promontory that extends far into Lake Kemnade. A steel tube is mounted in the center of the lantern, on which a green beacon is installed. A galvanized tubular mast is attached to the gallery, on which several sensors for a weather station are installed. The beacon marks the right-hand side of the entrance to the port of Witten-Heveney at the fairway division between the Ruhr and Ölbach.
