On Mühlenberg, even before the Thirty Years' War, there was a windmill that has disappeared. The first Dutch windmill in Hittbergen dates back to 1807. It burned down and was replaced in 1887 by the current building with a gallery. The windmill was shut down in 1961. Wing, cap and compass rose are still preserved. In 1998/99, extensive restoration work was carried out on the Mühlenkappe, Windrosen and Flügelwerk. The well-preserved mill with its square substructure made of raw bricks offers a highly visible eye-catcher in the Elbe landscape. The mill now serves as a residential mill, so it can only be visited from the outside.

Remarkable and striking is the brick wall of the mill tower. Only half is covered with brown shingles. This gives her a special look.

The 1961 decommissioned windmill, a Dutch gallery, serves, like the thousand-year-old oak in front of the church in Hittbergen, the community as a landmark and coat of arms motif.
