The beautiful statue of the Virgin Mary was carved out of Kylltal sandstone in 2004 by the Urfter stonemason Reiner Knie. Unknown people destroyed the original Madonna in July 2003. The statue and its base were violently overturned and broke into several parts. Only a few years earlier the Madonna had been restored at the instigation of the Eickser Musikverein. Due to the great damage, however, the statue could no longer be repaired. The acquisition of the new Madonna was made possible by the donations of the citizens of Eickser.

The forest chapel on the Eifel loop "Eickser Busch", between the open-air museum Kommern and Eicks, is dedicated to Our Lady and invites you to take a little spiritual rest. The Eifelverein Mechernich writes about them: "Classicist building erected in 1782, open on four sides. In the middle a simple Madonna, for a long time a processional target. Next to the chapel the grave of Baron Geyr von Schweppenburg and a rest area."
