The Gründerzeitmuseum Berlin is located in the old Gutshaus Mahlsdorf today. The museum was founded as early as the 1960s at the request of Charlotte von Mahlsdorf. At that time Mahlsdorf had received the demolished farmhouse under the condition that the building be renovated and that the Wilhelminian Museum be set up. Almost all furniture and everyday objects that were exhibited here came from their private property.

Today you can admire a total of 14 rooms, which are fully furnished in the style of the early days. The special highlight of the exhibition is located in the basement: There is the complete facility of the Old Berlin pub Mulackritze. When the pub in Scheunenviertel was to be demolished in 1963 Von Mahlsdorf rescued all the furniture in front of the garbage dump.

The museum is always open on Wednesdays and Sundays from 10am to 6pm. The museum visit is only possible within the scope of a very informative tour, which lasts around 75 minutes.

    Ticket prices:
    Adults 4.50 euros
    Children (6 to 12 years) 2 Euro
    Students 3.50 euros

With a lot of love and a sense of local color, Charlotte has collected unique testimonies of the Berlin Wilhelminian era and received them for posterity. Even if Charlotte von Mahlsdorf died. Your legacy lives on and is well worth a visit. Have a look at the "Mulackritze". One of the most notorious bars in old Berlin - here you can marvel at the original.
