Bad Krozingen is located in Breisgau, about 15 km south of Freiburg im Breisgau and 45 km north of Basel.
In the search for crude oil, which was suspected in the Upper Rhine Graben, one came in 1911 instead of the expected oil on thermal water, which should be crucial for the future of Krozingens as a health resort. After further drilling and the beginning of a spa operation Krozingen was awarded in 1933 the title "Bad". A modern spa building was completed in 1959.
