White donkeys at Sandeck

The white donkeys are a specialty, a breed of albinos).
A former watchtower is released as a watch tower, but has a steep ladder.
The Sandeck is very sandy, so you can hardly get by on the bike unless you come across it.

The exposed location on the edge of the huge reed belt attracts interesting animals: kestrel, hoopoe, fox, rabbit, owls.

One of my absolute favorite places! This year we were able to see and hear countless white baroque donkeys, black cattle, geese... The vast landscape alone is worth a visit, a paradise for nature lovers!If you want to avoid the sandy stretch, you can take the path where the carriages also drive. It comes from Illmitz, paths near Schrändlsee.

We were lucky, there were about 20 donkeys there in beautiful weather.
