A godless love affair is said to have taken place between an ancient charcoal burner and a young maid, the crooked Marget, from Windelsbach. The devil did not like this, although one might expect the opposite from him, and so he ended it in his cruel way. He threw the charcoal burner into his charcoal pile, where it suffocated, and the margin at some distance against the crooked oak, where it shattered remained lying.
