On one of the largest climbs in the Thuringian Forest with about 540 vertical meters, it goes up to the highest asphalted point of the Thuringian Forest (942 m above sea level).
From the outskirts Gräfenrodas the route leads for about 5 kilometers on a gentle slope up the valley of the wild Gera. From the station Gehlberg the slope increases significantly and it goes the remaining 6.4 kilometers with an average of 8% upwards (maximum 15%).
The summit of the Schneekopf (978 m above sea level) has not yet been reached. This only leads to a gravel road with large stones.
