The small forest road runs through the scenic Kehl valley and connects the Gehlberger Grund Oberhof.
During the 6 kilometers you cover with an average of 4.5% slope (maximum 9%) 270 meters. The driveway to Oberhof can thus be managed relaxed.
Halfway along, you pass the impressive portal to the rescue tunnel for the Rennsteig tunnel of the A71.
The departure should be approaching anticipatory and restrained. Because the curves are not visible because of the dense vegetation and the narrow road.
    To the traffic situation:
Uphill the road is closed to motor vehicles (except forestry vehicles). Off-road turning is even officially prohibited for all vehicles. So also for cyclists ... but you can also push around the corner ;-)
The departure is even for vehicles of all kinds (except forestry vehicles) locked. So also for bicycles ...
However, locals still like to use the street as a shortcut, so you always have to be prepared with oncoming vehicles. On average, you only encounter one or two vehicles on the road.

Beautiful tarred rise, whose lower part is a theoretically car-free forest road.

great long climb through fantastic fresh air forest on clean asphalt. In the race before the last turn saw chainsaws rhythms, all pulling up - top

During the Jedermann tour in the framework of the Germany tour. The Ansiteg up to Oberhofen was really fun. Super asphalt and beautiful the forest, so protected from the sun.
