A plaque on the door gives the following information: “Maria in der Not - 1665, built in honor of St. Rochus, helper for those suffering from the plague. ”After the 30 Years War (1618-1648) the plague raged. In their distress, people sought help and consolation from Mary and St. Rochus, who cared for the plague sufferers and infected himself from the plague and died from it. The chapel was built by Adolf von Wylich zu Groß-Bernsau (Overath).
