The Igreja de Santa Engrácia, or Church of Saint Engrácia, is a large 17th-century Baroque church in the Freguesia São Vicente in the Portuguese capital Lisbon. The church, which was only completed in the 20th century, now serves as the “National Pantheon” (Panteão Nacional) and was therefore never used as a place of worship.

The National Pantheon is the most famous Baroque building in Lisbon.
It was built over 300 years ago and opened under the name Santa Engrácia Church. In Portugal, when they say "Like the construction of Santa Engrácia," they mean that something is never finished.
The church was later declared the National Pantheon.
Today, famous citizens of Portugal are buried there.
It was originally intended to be surrounded by four towers.
Instead, there is an observation deck on the roof with a good view of Alfama
and the nearby cruise port. Admission is free with the Lisboa Card.
The Pantheon is located in the São Vicente district of the Alfama neighborhood. The Feira de Ladra flea market is well-known on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. near the Pantheon.
The easiest way to get there is by taking the 28E tram.
Get off at the Cç stop. S. Vicente.
