The Mercado da Ribeira (Market Hall), also known as Mercado 24 de Julho, has been an important food market since 1892, with the addition of a popular food court in 2014. Since then, you can feast on delicious Portuguese specialties here at the Time Out Market Lisboa.

In the west wing of the market hall, there are over 750 seats on 5,000 square meters on the ground floor and over 30 stalls offer nouvelle cuisine, fast food, traditional Portuguese cuisine or regional products such as ham, cheese or natas. The selection ranges from seafood and fish to steaks, hamburgers, sushi, sandwiches, ice cream and desserts.

It's all designed in the style of a canteen: the food stands are built on the edge around the tables and seats, and the drinks stands are in the middle. You get your own food, so you can take your time looking around and see what you want and try different things.

There will also be a traditional market for fresh produce on the ground floor tomorrow between 6 a.m. and 2 a.m. On the upper floor there is a concert hall and a gallery.

The hall was built from 1876 on the northern bank of the Tejo River, right next to the Cais do Sodré and opened on January 1st, 1882. Above all, the architecture using cast iron inside and the large oriental dome gave the market hall its own character.
