Great central train station, where all the national and international railways flowed. Built at the end of the 19th century according to a project by José Luís Monteiro, it is presented according to a model of neo-Manueline and iron Renaissance architecture, following the canons of the great European stations, with an area of platforms, covered by a wide iron visor, supported by a column structure, with neo-Gothic decoration, following the model of the Saint-Lazare station, in Paris, with a simple interior and facades with neo-Manueline decoration, where the classic scheme of a "mezzanine" was presented.

It is also interesting that the tracks including tracks immediately "disappear" in the tunnel. Only after about 2 km do you "see" the daylight again. As much as possible, they wanted to get into the "turmoil" of the city - true to the motto "Lisbon is not a province".

The narrow streets and many shops are fascinating. Particularly impressive I found the station (departure u.a. to Sintra), you would never suspect behind this great facade.

There are no tracks to be seen from the outside. The connections are underground. Of course, that was very time-consuming, but one wanted to escape the musty Immige, Pampa.
