The racecourse Scheibenholz is located in the district of Südvorstadt. The area is bounded by Rennbahnweg in the north, Karl-Tauchnitz-Straße and Wundstraße in the east, Schleußiger Weg in the south and the Elsterflutbett in the west. North of the racetrack path joins the Clara Zetkin Park. On the eastern edge of the racecourse is the music district. The area of the entire plant covers about thirty hectares.

The Leipziger Gallopprennbahn Scheibenholz was built in the years 1906-1907, in which there is a restaurant. A striking point of view are the two towers. It is located directly on the Weiße Elster floodbed.
