    Hiking

The Setas de Sevilla, also known as Metropol Parasol, are an iconic structure located in the Plaza de la Encarnación in Seville. Designed by architect Jürgen Mayer, this impressive construction resembles enormous mushrooms and is the largest wooden structure in the world.

    Hiking

The Metropol Parasol is the largest wooden structure in the world. It is composed of two concrete columns that house the elevators leading to the observation deck.
Its shape, resembling giant mushrooms, has led to its popular nickname, the Encarnación Mushrooms.
It was designed by architect Jürgen Mayer and opened in 2011.

    Hiking

There is a viewing platform on the roof. However, the access is via an elevator through the "basement" - so you have to go to the very top to go to the very bottom.
The observation deck is open until late in the evening, at night it is especially atmospheric up here.

Alcazar of Seville, Cathedral of Santa Maria and Setas de Sevilla - walk through the old town - circular

    20m

This circular walk through Seville's old town immerses you in the city's rich history and vibrant atmosphere, connecting three of its most important landmarks. You'll stroll through narrow streets and lively squares, enjoying the scent of orange blossoms and traditional architecture. It's an easy route, 3.0 miles (4.9 km) long with a minimal elevation gain of 57 feet (17 meters), which you can complete in approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes of walking, ideal for a relaxed exploration.

To plan your visit, keep in mind that the historic center is mostly pedestrianized, making the tour easy. Although the walk itself is short, if you wish to thoroughly explore the Real Alcázar, the Cathedral of Santa María, and ascend the Setas de Sevilla, you should set aside several hours, or even half a day. During the summer months, the heat can be considerable, so it's recommended to start your tour early in the morning or at sunset for a more pleasant experience.

What makes this route special is the concentration of UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as the Alcázar and the Cathedral, alongside the surprising modernity of the Setas de Sevilla. It offers a unique perspective on the city's architectural evolution, from Moorish palaces and Gothic cathedrals to contemporary structures. The panoramic views from the Giralda and the Setas will give you a comprehensive overview of the Sevillian skyline.
